Sheriff Opens New Substation

Sheriff John D’Agostini is pleased to announce the opening of the Sheriff’s Georgetown Substation. The decision to open a Georgetown substation stems from community input desiring an increase in deputy presence and to provide a centralized location for the citizens who live in the surrounding area.

The substation is located at 6101 Front Street, Suite 4 in Georgetown and will open to the public for the first time on June 2, 2014. The substation will be staffed by the Sheriff’s S.T.A.R. (Senior Team of Active Retirees) volunteers from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The S.T.A.R. volunteers will have crime prevention information and will try to answer any question you may have or they will direct you to the proper resource for assistance. Due to staffing availability the substation will be closed on Wednesdays, weekends and major holidays.

Deputies will be stopping by the substation periodically and will be available for contact when they are there. If there is a marked Sheriff’s patrol vehicle present at the substation a deputy will be available. Stop by and say hello.

Remember this is just one more way to contact the Sheriff’s Office. There are many other ways to get assistance you need from the Sheriff’s Office. If you have an emergency, call 911. If you want to file a non-emergency crime report you can request a deputy through the Sheriff’s Central Dispatch non-emergency phone number in Placerville at 530-621-6600 or in South Lake Tahoe at 530-573-3300. If you are reporting a crime and the suspect is NOT named, known, or identified, there are NO investigative leads that can lead to an arrest, and there is NO likelihood that an arrest will be made based on the information provided, you can file a report through the Sheriff’s online reporting system via the Sheriff’s website at https://www.edcgov.us/sheriff/ . Online reports are normally the types of reports used for insurance purposes.
