Possible Drowning at Folsom Lake

29 year old Alexander Ham has been identified as the missing person involved in the possible drowning in Folsom Lake on April 14, 2019. It is not believed that Alex was wearing a life vest or personal safety device at the time of the accident. Alex, pictured below, has been listed as a missing person.

The search for Alex in Folsom Lake was suspended yesterday, pending further investigative leads. The search consisted of resources from several counties and agencies, with numerous dive teams and sonar equipment used.

Alex’s family has asked for privacy during this time and does not wish to be contacted by any media outlets.

On April 14, 2019, at about 1835 hours the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was called regarding a possible drowning on Folsom Lake. It was reported that29-year-old male out of Vineyard, Ca, had been riding personal watercraft’s with his friend on Folsom Lake. The two became separated for a brief period of time. The friend located the missing person’s personal watercraft on the water but could not find him.

State Parks, Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, El Dorado Hills Fire, Cal Fire along with EDSO sent resources out to locate the missing person. A search of the area was conducted until it was too dark to continue the search.

This morning, EDSO Dive Team and other local resources have continued the search on Folsom Lake.
