Twin County Cultivation Bust

Approximately five months ago The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation concerning the Highlands Health and Wellness marijuana dispensary in Shingle Springs. The focus of the investigation centered on tax evasion, money laundering, conspiracy and the commercial distribution of marijuana for profit. The dispensary is believed to be a multi-million dollar criminal organization. On Wednesday morning the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit served search warrants for cultivation of marijuana and sales of marijuana at eight different locations in both El Dorado County and Sacramento County. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation and service of the warrants that included ten different agencies from throughout the area. Seventy plus officials assisted in the service of the warrants and the processing of the scenes. The family run criminal enterprise revealed at least eight people that may have been participating in the sale of marijuana for profit. After the warrants were served three suspects were taken into custody. Jeremy Mills, David Mills and Mark Mills were all arrested and booked into the County jail on suspicion of conspiracy, cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale charges. The service of the warrants produced over 900 marijuana plants, 3 firearms and several thousands of dollars in cash as well as over two million dollars “street value” in concentrated cannabis.  Several other people continue to be investigated by the Sheriff’s Office and are considered as being participants in this criminal organization.
