For Immediate Release

Sergeant Tasha Thompson

On April 2, 2017, at approximately 12:20 am, deputies responded to Sliger Mine Road and Highway 193 in Greenwood for a reported homicide.  The California Highway Patrol was on scene of a reported vehicle accident and had located one deceased male, identified as 35 year old Dennis Johns of Georgetown.

The investigation determined the accident was an intentional act.  We worked with the California Highway Patrol MAIT team, as well as the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office to investigate the homicide.  It was determined Johns was intentionally struck while standing outside of his vehicle by another vehicle driven by 38 year old Jacob Bohlen of Greenwood.  Johns was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Prior to Johns being struck by Bohlen, it was reported they had been in a verbal argument.  Bohlen was arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail for PC 192(a) – Voluntary Manslaughter.
