Investigation into threats against a student

For Immediate Release

Sergeant Anthony Prencipe

On Monday, September 24th, 2018, The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office became aware of reports of threats made towards a 12th grade student, who attends Oak Ridge High School. These reported threats were made through social media (Snapchat) and screenshots of the threats were shared throughout the community, causing rumors and a possible safety concern to the school.

EDSO deputies and detectives conducted a thorough investigation into the alleged threats and interviewed the involved parties. We have determined that the crimes were unsubstantiated and there was no further reason for concern for the safety of the community, school, or students. No further information, including identification of those involved, will be released due to their ages and no arrest being made.
