On July 13, 2020, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office was called regarding two girls who had run away from a local group home and had been picked up by an unknown person. The staff initially followed the vehicle and provided a description. Deputies set up in numerous locations throughout the county and notified neighboring agencies.

About an hour later, the vehicle was located on Mormon Emigrant Trail by Sheriff’s Deputies. The girls were safely rescued and the driver, 29-year-old Edward Gray of Tracy, Ca, was arrested without incident. Edward has been booked into EDC Jail for human trafficking, kidnapping under the age of 14, pimping, pandering and criminal threats. His bail is currently set at $5.7 million.
