The following information was received from Cal Fire with updated voluntary and mandatory evacuation information provided by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s office. 

Current Situation: The King Fire is located in the canyon of the South Fork of the American River, northeast of the community of Pollock Pines.  The fire is currently burning to the east, north, and west and it became very active Tuesday afternoon. The fire is burning in steep terrain located in the South Fork of the American River Canyon and Silver Creek Canyon.  The fire crossed over Brushy Creek to the west. Rollouts and spotting continue to be a problem in these areas.  Both ground and air resources continue to be challenged by this steep terrain.  California Interagency Incident Management Team 5 has assumed command of the fire as of 6:00 A.M. this morning. This unified command fire is a joint effort with CAL FIRE and the El Dorado National Forest.

                 

Evacuations:  Mandatory – Mandatory Evacuation Orders have been issued for the following areas: East side of Sly Park Road, south to Park Creek, Park Creek east to Highway 50, and the south side of Highway 50 to Riverton, Crystal Basin – Hwy 50 east of Fresh Pond to Icehouse, North on Icehouse to Wentworth Springs, west to just above Quintette, to include campgrounds and businesses.  Union Valley Reservoir area, Yellow Jacket Campground, Wolf Creek Campground, Stumpy Meadows Campground, Fashoda Campground, Big Hill Lookout Road, Big Hill Road, Blodgett Forest Road, Bridle Path Way, Forest Road, Frontier Road, Helix Flat Ave, Icehouse Road (west side), Jones Fork Power House Road, Middle Loop Road, Mosquito Road, Onion Valley Road, Outer Limits Lane, Little Silver Road, Loop road, Peavine Point Road, Peavine ridge road, Plum Creek Road, Piolet Creek Road, Robbs Peak Road, Sand Mountain Road, SMUDEA, Spring Road, Sunset Drive, Tricometric Trail, Wentworth Springs (south side, east of Pilot Creek Road), 11 Pines Road, and the entire community of Swansboro, north of the South Fork of the American River between Brushy Creek and Rock Creek.  Evacuation Orders are still in place for the following: Eastside of Forebay road from King of the Mountain Road to Pony Express Trail. All roads north of Pony Express Trail from Forebay road east through Bullion Bend. White Meadows road and Spring Valley Road are also under mandatory evacuation.

Voluntary Evacuation Advisories – Voluntary Evacuation Advisory for the communities of Volcanoville and Quintette. Residences west of Sly Park Road to the Gold Ridge Trail area, Voluntary evacuation advisories are still in effect for residents located west of Forebay Road from Blair Road to Pony Express Trail. Additional Voluntary Evacuation Advisories are in place for Badger Hill Road, Marmot Road, Lucky Mine Road, Old Blair Mill Road, Apple Creek court, Applemont Ranch, Chickaree Lane, Longs Creek, Quick Silver Road, Quick Silver Court, and Baltimore Road.

 

Evacuation Shelter Location:  The evacuation center has been moved to the Camino Seventh-day Adventist Church.   The Address is: 3520 Carson Road in Camino.

                                 

Road Closures: Pony Express Trail from Crystal View Station East towards Bullion Bend, Forebay Road at Blair Road and at Forebay Road at Pony Express Trail.  White Meadows Road is Closed at Ice House Road. Rock Creek at Highway 193, Mosquito at Union Ridge, Park Creek at Sly Park, Highway 50 east of Pollock Pines may be subject to delays or lane closures in the fire area.
