Robbery, Impersonating police officer- Arrest

For Immediate Release

Sergeant Anthony Prencipe

Yesterday we were called regarding an armed robbery at a construction site in El Dorado Hills. The victim reported that a similar incident had occurred a week earlier. The suspect, Patrick Mullany of El Dorado Hills, reportedly identified himself as an ICE agent, handcuffed the constructions workers, and took money to pay for “court fees” from the victims, under a threat of being deported. Once Mullany left, the victims called EDSO.

Our patrol worked diligently alongside our investigations units to determine the facts. As a result, a search warrant was issued for Mullany’s residence and vehicle. During the search, two replica firearms, two sets of handcuffs, and a large amount of cash were located. Mullany was arrested and transported to the County Jail for Robbery, False Imprisonment, and Impersonating a Police Officer.
