Threats to Local High School

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person who sent the threatening Instagram post.  The individual is a resident of Texas and was contacted by local law enforcement in that state.  The individual, identified as nineteen year old Justin Boaz of Tyler, Texas, admitted to making the post because he was “bored”.  Based on this information, we believe there is no further danger regarding this threat.  No criminal charges will be filed in this case due to Justin’s location and the fact he lacked the present ability to follow through on his threats.

Over the weekend, the Union Mine High School Yearbook Instagram page received a threatening post regarding the safety of the campus.  El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has been working in conjunction with the El Dorado Union High School District to determine if the threat is viable.  At this time, there is an ongoing investigation.  There is no indication that the threat is viable, but until completion of the investigation the threat will be taken seriously.  The safety of the campus and community is of the utmost importance.  In order to ensure the ongoing safety of students and staff, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office will have Deputies at the campus Monday to follow up with the district and school administration.

Attempted Robberies in El Dorado County

On 10/09/17, at about 7 PM,  two suspects entered the CVS store located at 3500 Palmer Dr. in Cameron Park and attempted to rob the pharmacy.  The suspects were described as two Black male adults, in their 20’s, wearing black hooded sweatshirts.  One of the suspects looked to have dreadlocks.  The suspects jumped the pharmacy counter and demanded narcotics.  When they were not given the medication, they fled the store.

On 10/10/17 at about 12:22 PM, the Walgreens at 4014 Plaza Goldorado in Cameron Park, reported two suspects entered their store and attempted to rob them.  The suspects matched the description as the attempted robbery on 10/09 at CVS in Cameron Park.  The suspects jumped the Pharmacy Counter and demanded narcotics.  When they did not receive what they asked for, the suspects fled the scene.
On 10/10/17, at about 1 PM, Two people matching the same description as the prior two attempted robberies, entered the Walgreens on Missouri Flat Road in Placerville.  Walgreens management had been notified of the prior attempted robbery and were told to be on the look-out.  Employees saw two people matching the description, walk toward the front entrance of the store.  Walgreens staff approached the suspects as they entered.  The suspects then fled the scene, prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
