On August 29th at approximately 11:20 PM, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Marshall Medical Center for a patient that had been shot in the chest with an arrow. A 68 year old male had been transported to Marshall Medical Center’s Emergency Room by private vehicle with an apparent arrow wound.  Deputies responded and determined that the incident occurred in the town of Rescue at the victim’s residence.  The suspect, 35 year old Michael Raley had fled the scene immediately after the incident.  El Dorado County Sheriff Detectives were called to the incident and conducted an investigation.  It was determined that Raley and the victim were acquaintances and were staying at the same property. At approximately 11:00 PM, there was a disturbance between Raley and another individual.  The victim attempted to intervene when Raley allegedly shot him with a crossbow.   Raley was located several hours later and arrested by El Dorado County Detectives. He was subsequently booked for attempted murder.   The victim is still hospitalized and is in critical condition.
