On September 20, 2015, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6000 block of Chablis Drive for a home invasion robbery.  The homeowners reported three armed subjects entered their residence with firearms at approximately 6:00 am that morning.  The armed subjects stole marijuana and firearms from the residence.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Densmore at 642-4718.

On September 13, 2015 at approximately 1100 hours, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist Garden Valley Fire on a wild land fire in the 4600 block of Highway 193 in Garden Valley.  While searching the area, it was determined that a residence had burned.  El Dorado County Coroner’s confirmed two person’s remains were located inside the burned residence.  The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office and Sacramento County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of the fire, cause of death and identification of the remains found inside the residence.

This investigation is ongoing and more information will be announced once it becomes available.

On Saturday 9/19/15 at about 4:49 pm, while delivering the dinner meal at the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville, correctional officers found an inmate deceased inside of his cell.  The inmate was alone and had an item tied to the top bunk and around his neck.  Correctional officers entered the cell and cut the subject free at which time they began performing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. Jail medical staff responded to provide emergency medical care and paramedics were requested.  Upon the arrival of El Dorado County Fire personnel, the subject was pronounced deceased at 5:03 pm.

The decedent is described as a 34-year-old male who was arrested on the charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and criminal threats.  His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This suspected suicide is being investigated as a multi-agency investigation by Detectives from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
