On Friday, January 31, 2020, El Dorado County Sheriff Office narcotics detectives executed a search warrant at two homes in Placerville and a business at the 2500 block of Greenwood Lane in Cameron Park, after receiving information about a Butane Honey Oil (BHO or concentrated cannabis) lab.
Four people in total were arrested and detectives collected pounds of marijuana, concentrated cannabis, lab equipment and cans of butane gas. Detectives located 150 unused cans and 15,000 used canisters.
Three people, Chad Nicolay, Luis Sandoval, and Anthony Gaytan, were arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance and conspiracy. Nicolay and Allison Hendricks, were arrested on child endangerment charges. The BHO lab evidence and controlled substances were located at the residential homes.
Butane manufacturing labs are extremely dangerous and can become deadly due to the extreme flammability of butane. The manufacturing of the substance can pose significant danger to innocent bystanders and first responders.
WHAT: The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office will host a blood drive in memory of Deputy Brian Ishmael. Deputy Ishmael was killed in the line of duty on October 23, 2019, after responding to a call for service. Deputy Ishmael, who was born in Placerville, served with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office for 4 years and prior to that served with Placerville Police Department.
Blood
drive walk-ins are welcome, but those with appointments will receive priority
in line. To schedule an online appointment, go to www.donors.vitalant.org and

donate as a guest – this feature is only for first time donors scheduling
an appointment for the first time online).
Donors can complete their health history
questionnaire on the day of the blood drive on a computer or Smartphone. Go to vitalant.org\health and follow the
instructions. Enter your zip code or
choose BloodSource as the location. Using a computer, you will need to print
and bring your QR code. If you’re using
a Smartphone take a screenshot of the QR code, or save your QR code as a
PDF. Make sure you use your legal name
(as noted on your legal I.D. card). For the
date of birth choose year first, then month and then date. Also use Google
Chrome for Android phones.

ELIGIBILITY: Whole blood
donors must be at least 16 years old and there is no upper age limit for donating
blood. 16-year old’s must have a signed Vitalant parental

be in good general health and bring a photo I.D. Donors should eat well and
drink plenty of water prior to donation.

In September of 2019, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office
was awarded grant funding from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage
Control (ABC) – Office of Traffic Safety to conduct multiple enforcement,
educational and prevention programs throughout the County of El Dorado. The goal of this grant is to reduce the
availability of alcohol to minors, and reduce alcohol-related crime. This is done by increasing public safety,
combating underage drinking and educating licensees about alcoholic beverage
laws.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office along with Agents from
the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will be conducting
Minor Decoy and Shoulder Tap Operations in and around licensed ABC
establishments. The Sheriff’s Office and
ABC will be utilizing underage decoys in an attempt to solicit the purchase of
alcohol to underage minors.
Those who sell to minors face a minimum fine of $250, and/or
24 to 32 hours of community service for a first violation. In addition, ABC will take administrative
action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business where alcohol was
sold to a minor. That may include a
fine, a suspension of the license, or the permanent revocation of the license.
