At 1 PM, Sheriff D’Agostini held a press conference with updates on the murder investigation and arrest information. A copy of that press conference can be viewed at facebook.com/ElDoradoSheriff.
Information on the people arrested and their booking photographs are available below.
Juan Carlos Vasquez-Orozco- 20 years old. Arrested for murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
Romiro Bravo Morales- 22 years old. Arrested for aiding in the commission of a felony.
Christopher Garry Ross- 47 years old. Arrested for manslaughter.
Deputy Killed in the Line of Duty

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce that we lost a deputy in the line of duty this morning. El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Ishmael was shot and killed after responding to a call for service in the area of Sand Ridge Road in Somerset, Ca. A ride-along was with Deputy Ishmael during the call and was injured during the shooting. Their condition is unknown at this time.
We currently have two men in custody and the scene is still active. There is a large contingent of law enforcement including a helicopter in the area. We ask that you please remain out of this area. Residents, we ask that you remain vigilant and call 911 for any suspicious activity.
Deputy Brian Ishmael is a 4-year veteran with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s office and previous worked for Placerville Police Department. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
